Daniel Rachel is the author of Isle of Noises: Conversations with Great British Songwriters an NME and Guardian Book of the Year. He is a musician and songwriter, and a specialist director bringing drama to non-theatrical settings. After reading an American book called Songwriters On Songwriting, Daniel went in search of the British equivalent. He didn’t find it. So decided to create the book he wanted to read.

‘Without doubt the finest book I’ve ever read about songwriters and the songs they write.’ NOEL GALLAGHER

Daniel’s second title Walls Come Tumbling Down: An oral history of Rock Against Racism, 2 Tone and Red Wedge will be published by Picador in 2016.
