Rachel McHaffie has worked as a photojournalist since 1994, and is one of the very few photographers whose career has focused on the documentation of the dance music revolution. Her career began at the now infamous Hacienda nightclub in Manchester where she was the staff photographer in the 1990s. This early experience informed the basis of Rachel’s visual interest in the social phenomenon of club culture – as important a cultural movement as the beatniks, hippies or punks. Rachel has gone on to work for many music magazines including DJ, Mixmag, Seven and the Ministry of Sound capturing the global club landscape from Las Vegas to Iceland.
