What happens when an author, a director and a musician get together to turn a book into a film? In this multi-disciplinary session, director Mark Crane will show his award-winning film ‘Heaven’s Rage’, talking afterwards with Leslie Tate, the book’s author, about how they turned an LGBTQ memoir into experimental cinema. They will be joined by indie folk singer Minnie Birch, performing her ‘storytelling’ songs and talking about the music she composed for the film.
The session will cover how Mark, Leslie and Minnie came together, how they influenced each other, and what they learned from the experience. There will be images from the film, original songs and lyrical readings from the book.
So what happens when a musician, an author and a film director work together? Come along, ask questions, listen to the music and find out!
