DJ, writer Dave Haslam DJ’d over 450 times at the Hacienda club in Manchester, mostly in the late 1980s. He was the Stone Roses tour DJ in 1989 and 1990, including at Spike Island. Among his other DJ gigs; events in Detroit, Berlin, Ibiza, New York, Lima, Geneva, Paris etc. and afterparties for Gorillaz, and Depeche Mode. More recently, he has DJ’d alongside the likes of Laurent Garnier and Seth Troxler.
An accomplished journalist and writer, he has contributed to the ‘NME’, ‘The Guardian’, ‘Les Inrocks’, ‘The New Statesmen” and elsewhere, and written five books. His latest, ‘Sonic Youth Slept on My Floor’, his memoirs, was published May 2018. He has contributed to radio and TV shows on subjects as diverse as urban regeneration, the life of Frederich Engels, and the work of Daft Punk.
