Music, Painting & Film, by Sleaford Mods & Chris Gollon

Coinciding with CHRIS GOLLON: Beyond the Horizon, a major museum retrospective of Gollon’s music-related works at Huddersfield Art Gallery (12th Oct 2019 – 4th Jan 2020), two mesmerising films combine his unique imagery with music.

Saturday 9 Nov  |  2.00pm

The first Kaleidmorphism One, made by JABOD & Chris Gollon, is an 18-minute film first premiered at the East End Film festival in 2008, with music Gollon selected. The second, made in 2019 two years after Chris Gollon’s untimely death, is Firewall, an exciting artistic collaboration with the Sleaford Mods: a work of art, music and film, using the song Firewall (from the album Eton Alive, 2019) with Chris Gollon’s imagery.

David Tregunna (Producer of Firewall) and Mark Calderbank (Art Director) offer an open Q&A and discuss the difficulties, successes and pitfalls of combining original music and paintings, and how and why the songs and images change and deepen each other’s effect on us.
