A Hidden Landscape

A Hidden Landscape: John McCready in conversation with Mark Sinker and Simon Frith, on where UK music-writing as we understand it came from, and where it went …

Sunday 10 Nov  |  2.00pm

This event centres round Mark Sinker’s recent anthology for Strange Attractor, which brings together many voices to tell the story of a legendary era: A Hidden Landscape Once A Week: The Unruly Curiosity of the UK Music Press in the 1960s-80s, in the words of those who were there. Mark and John both wrote for NME in the 80s, and Mark went on to edit the Wire in the 90s, while Simon, author of The Sociology of Rock, also wrote for Let It Rock, CREEM, Melody Maker and the Village Voice in the 70s and 80s.”

This event is presented in partnership with BIMM Manchester
